Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the Bedrock Hayward Concrete and Masonry website, starting from our home page, and any estimate or work you arrange with us through it. By using the site or booking an estimate, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
When you hire us for a job, we put the scope, price and schedule in a written agreement. If that agreement says something different from these terms, the written agreement controls for that job.
What we do
Bedrock Hayward Concrete and Masonry is a masonry contractor in Hayward, CA. We do foundation, brick, block, stone, paver, chimney and fireplace work for homes in Hayward and the cities around it. You can read more about our crew on our About page.
This site describes our services in general. It isn't an offer to do a specific job, and the photos and descriptions don't promise that your project will look or cost the same. Your job is defined by the written estimate and agreement for it.
Estimates and pricing
We give estimates in person and free of charge, because masonry prices depend on things we have to see, like access to the work, the condition of what's already there, soil and drainage, and the materials you pick.
An estimate is our best figure based on what we can see before work starts. Once a wall or footing is opened up, we sometimes find damage or buried material nobody could see. If that changes the work or the price, we'll stop, explain it to you, and wait for your written approval before doing the extra work.
An estimate is good for the period written on it. After that, material costs may have changed and we may need to update the figure.
Scheduling and cancellation
We set a start date once you accept the estimate. Weather, curing time for concrete and mortar, material deliveries and permit or inspection timing can move that date, so we'll tell you about a delay as soon as we know about it.
If you need to move an estimate visit, call us or use the contact form as early as you can. If you want to cancel a job after signing, tell us in writing. Your written agreement explains any cancellation rights you have under California law and any charges for materials already ordered or work already done.
Payment
The payment schedule, including any deposit and when progress payments are due, is written into your agreement before work starts. We won't ask for payment beyond what that agreement says.
Final payment is due when the work described in the agreement is complete. If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's paid, and we'll tell you before we do.
Warranties and what they don't cover
Any warranty on a job is the one written in that job's agreement, along with whatever warranty the material makers give on their products. We'll give you copies of what applies to your job.
Masonry and concrete move with the ground. Hairline cracks from shrinkage or settling, color differences in mortar, stone and pavers, and efflorescence, the white salt that can rise to the surface, are normal and aren't defects unless your agreement says otherwise. Damage from ground movement, earthquakes, flooding, tree roots, misuse or later work by others isn't covered.
The information on this website is general and provided as it is. It isn't engineering or legal advice for your property, and we don't promise it's complete or current.
Limits on our liability
To the extent California law allows, Bedrock Hayward Concrete and Masonry isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses from using this website, or for losses caused by events outside our control. For a job we do, our responsibility is what your written agreement and the law set out.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under California law that can't be waived.
Working out a disagreement
If something about a job isn't right, call us first at (510) 264-7015 or reach us through our Contact page. Most problems get settled faster when we come out, look at it with you and agree on a fix.
If we can't settle it that way, either of us may take the matter to the courts in Alameda County, California, or use another process we both agree to in writing.
Which law applies
These terms, your use of this website and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted on this page applies to your use of the site from the day it's posted.
A signed job agreement stays under the terms in place when you signed it, unless we both agree in writing to change it.
Questions about these terms
If anything here is unclear, call us at (510) 264-7015 or send a message through the contact form, and we'll walk you through it before you book anything.
